New appointment to Hutchinsons horticultural team

Crop production specialists Hutchinsons has appointed Chris Williams as horticultural sundries manager. Based in Canterbury, Chris will build Hutchinsons’ sundries business in support of their horticultural team.

Chris Williams has 26 years of experience within the horticultural sector, starting in 1991 and being promoted to transport manager in the horticultural sector for Dalgety and then for Masstock/Agrii.

“My role entails sourcing the many products, probably 100’s, that top fruit, vine and glasshouse growers need to grow profitable crops. Most products will come from the UK but some come from Poland, Belgium and Holland. Being based in the heart of the top fruit growing area in Kent and working in Hutchinsons new depot in Canterbury means I am perfectly placed to support our experienced horticultural team and our growers. I am really looking forward to making a contribution to such a dedicated and experienced team,” says Mr Williams.

“We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Hutchinson team. His appointment illustrates our continued commitment and investment into the horticultural sector and is in an area of business which we want to develop and expand,” says horticultural director, Mike Hutchinson.
