Frontier acquires Kent grain company

Frontier Agriculture has confirmed that its purchase of GH2, the parent company of Grain Harvesters, is now complete.

Kent based Grain Harvesters was established in 1947, and has built up a customer base across south east England. It has an excellent reputation for customer service and strong relationships with local farm customers.

Grain Harvesters will retain its brand and will operate as a separate business led by the current trading director, Charles Roberts.

Mr Roberts is clear about the benefits the deal will bring to customers, “While remaining a local company focused on the needs of farmers in Kent and East Sussex, we now have all the resources of Frontier at our disposal. That means growers will have access to state of the art seed plants, expert agronomy advice and Frontiers’ grain marketing expertise. We all know how volatile the marketplace can be, and the security Frontier offers is very valuable indeed.”

Frontier’s business development director, Jon Duffy will be Chairman of Grain Harvesters and he recognises the similarities in culture and ethos between the two companies, “Both Frontier and Grain Harvesters have built their businesses on strong relationships with their farmer customers, and this will remain at the heart of what we do” he says. “We have the scale and resources to ensure that Grain Harvesters can not only maintain the high level of support that farmers rightly expect, but to also exceed their expectations by offering them a greater range of services. We will be using our expertise to help the business grow.”
