Interagro appoints Stuart Sutherland as technical manager

Stuart Sutherland has been appointed as technical manager with the global adjuvant and biocide business, Interagro.

An agricultural graduate from SAC, Mr Sutherland has held technical and agronomic positions with Scottish Agronomy, as an area manager with Syngenta in central Scotland, agronomy manager within BASF and latterly held technical and commercial roles with both Interfarm and Nufarm.

Stuart Sutherland is BASIS, CPA, FACTS and BETA qualified and has extensive agronomic experience in arable, potato and horticultural crop production.

Of his appointment he says: “I’m delighted to be joining Interagro at rapidly changing times in our industry and ever-increasing political and regulatory pressures on registered crop protection products. Our future focus has to be on achieving improved efficacy from the products we have, through better application, product placement and enhanced uptake.  Interagro has complete focus on developing new technologies to tick all of these inter-related boxes, so this makes it a very exciting for me to join the team.”

Interagro director, Emma Ralph adds: “Interagro is entering a phase of growth that will see us launch a number of ground-breaking products to EU and UK markets. Stuart has a vast amount of experience in technical and developmental agronomy which encompasses both small plot and farm-scale trials. I’m thrilled that he is joining our growing team at this important time in our company journey.”
