Knight uprates brakes and controls

Knight Farm Machinery is introducing two new features to its self- propelled sprayers, including an ISOBUS control system fitted as standard on all machines and a new hydrostatic boosted braking system for its 1800 series machines.

The new control system will enable operators to use ISOBUS compatible third party in cab terminals with their machines, and enable easier sharing of information with other machines in the same fleet.

David Main, sales manager, says the system will meet the needs of contractors and farmers who are already running ISOBUS systems and need to share information between multiple operators and machines:

“We believe this will benefit operators in terms of familiarity and the ability to share information quickly and easily, ensuring optimum working efficiency. Knight is the first UK manufacturer to offer this system as standard”.

The hydrostatic boosted braking system will assist braking efficiency of its 1800 series models from road transport speeds. It is being fitted as standard on larger machines in the series and offered as an option for smaller ones.

The system senses the change in oil pressure when the operator reduces forward speed via the transmission control joystick. It automatically reacts by dropping the motors powering the front wheels into low range:

“The smooth transition of the front wheel motors from high to low range offers quicker, more effective braking from higher speeds, which will aid stability and make braking on roads safer and more secure”.
