New leader For Corteva Agriscience UK & Ireland in 2021

Corteva Agriscience has announced that Crop Protection sales manager William Corrigan will be promoted to UK & Ireland Country Leader from 1 January 2021.

William will replace Adrian Gough who has been with the company for 36 years. Adrian will continue to support William in his new role before retiring on 31 March.

Paolo Barbieri, Corteva Agriscience Commercial Unit Leader, Northern Europe, said: “We would like to thank Adrian for his outstanding contributions over the years, in particular his leadership of the UK & Ireland during the creation of Corteva as an independent company. The UK & Ireland team have a very positive impact on the success of our Northern Europe cluster and an important factor in this has been Adrian’s foresight and influence.

“I am convinced that William will build on his legacy and continue to drive forward the success of our company. The UK & Ireland are key markets for Corteva.”

Mr Gough joined DuPont in 1984 and took on country responsibility for the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1992. He was also based in France and Germany before returning to the UK and becoming Country Leader in 2017.

Mr Gough said: “It has been a pleasure working with so many dedicated professionals during my nearly 40 years in agriculture. Launching Corteva Agriscience in the UK & Ireland together with our employees is an achievement that will always fill me with immense pride.

Mr Corrigan grew up on a mixed livestock and arable farm in County Kildare and joined the company in 2010 after completing a research Masters at University College Dublin.

He has held regional and national business roles, including product manager for fungicides and leading Corteva’s Irish business for four years. He currently oversees both the key account management and area management teams.

Mr Corrigan said: “I am thrilled to head up Corteva’s business in the UK and Ireland. Adrian is handing over the reins at a crucial time for agriculture and with so much to come from Corteva.

“We have an important role to play in delivering the tools farmers need to be resilient, sustainable and profitable for the future. I am looking forward to working with them and our customers to demonstrate how our strong product range of seeds, crop protection and digital solutions will continue to support the agricultural industry while growing our business across the region.”
