Scotts Precision Manufacturing has extended its distribution network with the appointment of a new sales and service agent to cover the West of England.

The Boston manufacturer of vegetable harvesting equipment formally appointed Russell Price Farm Services this month.

Based in Herefordshire, Russell Price Farm Services will be offering Scotts’ range of Trinity toppers, Microlift Pro fully mounted windrowers and harvesters

“We’ve known the team at Russell Price Farm Services for several years and have worked with them on an ad-hoc basis. In the last couple of years, we’ve seen a rise in enquiries from their part of the world, and as we struggle a little bit to get out to customers in the West of England, a more formal relationship makes sense,” says Derek Scott, managing director of Scotts Precision Manufacturing. “We’re really looking forward to working with them.”

Russell Price Farm Services was established in 1991 and today focuses on contracting, farming and machinery sales, including Scanstone, Sumo, Spearhead Machinery, Guttler, Pichon and Broughan Trailers ranges.

“The banning of Diquat has sparked a dramatic increase in toppers,” says Richard Young, sales manager at Russell Price Farm Services. “The Scotts Trinity range of toppers is by far the best on the market, and we’re delighted to be able to represent them in this part of the world.”

Scotts’ range of toppers currently comprises three models: the Trinity 22B two row topper; Trinity 30B three row and Trinity 6000 six-row folding version.

The Trinity 22B two-row topper offers the highest transmission rating in the country and is complemented by the 30B, which has a 300cm cutting width, capable of handling either three 90cm or four 75cm rows.

All Scotts’ 2020 toppers feature new front and rear LED side lights and quick change flails for reduced downtime. The toppers offer a broad range of cutting heights and come with static shear plates that provide a “mulching” effect. Scotts has included a replaceable steel inner liner that offers excellent hood protection and the largest variation of flail lengths of any topper currently available.

The appointment of Russell Price Farm Services to cover the West of England follows a recent announcement that Scotts was working closely with Yorkshire & Humber to provide service and support to customers in the North of England.
