Next month’s Agritechnica event in Germany will include the launch of a new range of higher-horsepower stepless transmission tractors for the X7.6 Series from the McCormick range, presented by Argo Tractors.

Currently, this six-cylinder tractor series covers power outputs from 151hp to 225hp with the P6-Drive powershift transmission available throughout and the VT-Drive stepless transmission available in two models – the X7.660 VT-Drive with 165hp for draft work and 180hp for transport and pto-driven implements, and the X7.670 VT-Drive with 180/192hp outputs.

The new X7.6 VT-Drive line-up comprises four models; one with similar power outputs to the current top model with VT-Drive and three with higher power outputs peaking at 230/240hp from the new X7.624 VT-Drive.

“In addition to representing a new level of performance from the McCormick X7.6 VT-Drive tractors that closes the gap to the larger X8 VT-Drive machines from 264hp to 310hp,” said the company, “the newcomers feature a new control package with five MySwitch buttons that can be assigned different tasks by the operator, electric adjustment of steering wheel angle, ISOBUS implement control, McCormick Fleet Management telematics, and fully integrated GPS guidance and precision farming technologies.

“The tractors also have new engine hood styling that matches the appearance of the X8 VT-Drive tractors and a new cab roof incorporating an improved array of worklights.

“Beneath the new-look hood are European Stage V emissions-compliant Betapower engines from FPT that continue to use only a combination of SCR and DOC exhaust treatment technologies; these engines and the new styling are shared with the latest-spec McCormick X7.6 P6-Drive tractors also being presented at the show.”
