BASIS members can keep track of CPD points at the click of a button, with a new app launched this July.

“As we enter into the new BASIS points year, professional register members will be able to quickly access their CPD points status via the new app,” says Lucy Cottingham, BASIS marketing and technical manager.

“It’s a progressive web app and we aim to continually update and improve this facility. One area we are looking into is the registration at events for CPD points through the app using the device’s GPS” she says.

To download the app onto tablets and smartphones, members should visit www.basis-app.co.uk on the device its intended for, and enter their membership number and password.

On iPhone/iPad

Once the login screen is visible, to add it to the home screen, press the ‘share’ icon and select ‘add to home screen’.

On android devices

Once the login screen is visible then click on the ‘options’ icon at the top of your screen and click ‘add to home screen’.

“Once you have successfully saved the app to your home screen you can log in by entering your account number and password.

“Points will be automatically updated for instant reference,” says Lucy.

The new app is available for members gaining CPD points in all categories, which include crop management, amenity, fertiliser, public health pest control business sectors, and for unmanned aerial systems.

“CPD points can be gained in various ways for several activities, and any event that offers up to date technical information is eligible for CPD points,” says Michele Williams, BASIS professional registers and account manager.

“This can mean in-house training, meetings and conferences, technical updates and seminars, reading of relevant technical publications and websites, attending exhibitions, online distance learning and health and safety, or personal development courses,” says Michele.

“Members can also visit www.basis.co.uk for the latest BASIS events and keep up to date with their individual points tally, or contact the office for more information on 01335 340850.
