Drift-reducing Wingssprayer system now available in the UK through Landquip

Landquip is now the UK agent for the Dutch-designed Wingssprayer, which it will be launching at Lamma 2020.  This aerodynamic, twin wing application system is designed to significantly reduce drift whilst boosting product efficacy by ensuring it is sprayed deep into the crop. By using wide-angle nozzles spaced at 25cm and positioned between the two aerofoil wings, fine droplets are produced, significantly enhancing crop coverage.

The Wingssprayer aerofoil system utilises the aerodynamic air streams created by forward motion and head winds to create a downward swirl of fine droplets which penetrate directly into the crop. User experience suggests the system can typically result in savings of 20 per cent in contact herbicides and 10-20 per cent in fungicides from the improved contact and resulting requirement for reduced product volumes.

During spraying the wings gently touch the crop, slightly opening the canopy to further aid droplet penetration whilst reducing vaporisation. Dutch inspection authorities require farmers to meet stringent legislation that requires drift reduction of at least 75 per cent. The Wingssprayer uses fine nozzles to achieve a drift reduction of 99.8 per cent, and allows spraying up to half a metre from a water course.

Harrie Hoeben, the inventor/designer of the Wingssprayer, will be in attendance on the Landquip stand at LAMMA (stand 17.360) to discuss the system’s principles and benefits, and offer advice based on customer experiences around the world.

New model added to Cropmaster mounted sprayer range

Making its debut at LAMMA will be an addition to Landquip’s Cropmaster mounted sprayer range, the new 1,300 litre Cropmaster. Available with the ultra-light RPA aluminium boom in widths of 18-24m, the new machine joins existing 1,600 and 1,900 litre models. Like others in the range, the new model’s capacity can be boosted by pairing with a 1,500 or 1,900litre Vision front tank. A full package of precision farming options are also available, from the ARAG Bravo 180S entry-level controller to GPS-governed individual nozzle section control, boom auto height and colour touch screen.

Cultivation equipment makes LAMMA debut

From its recently-announced partnership with Ukrainian firm Lozova, Landquip will be exhibiting a 6.0m trailed model from its range of heavy-duty Ducat disc harrows, which are available in 2.5-16.5m working widths. Also on show will be a rotary harrow and an inter-row cultivator. The new machines are part of a range aimed to fit into all types of farming system, from conventional to organic to hybrid. It includes discs, stubble/straw harrows, toothed drag harrows, inter-row cultivators, rotary harrows and potato ridgers.
