The AHDB has updated its Farmbench tool by adding environmental schemes alongside crop production. This includes bolt-on options, land swaps or whole-farm approaches so that growers can now benchmark the cost of all enterprise types on farm.
This update allows you to both record the cost of establishing a scheme (such as SFI) and calculate net margin alongside your existing farming figures.
Users simply have to sign in to their Farmbench account and decide which options apply to their enterprise.
The AHDB says whole-farm reports will now include scheme establishment costs and income linked to the schemes, making it easy to compare financial performance across the different farm enterprises.
