Data from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) shows that tractor registrations grew by a third for the first quarter of 2026 compared to last year.
Much of that came in March, when registrations increased significantly. Most power bands saw increases, with the highest being in the 241-320hp range, but there was a fall in high horsepower registrations (over 320hp).
The AEA reports growth was also apparent across most parts of the UK, although it was lower in the South and East of England than elsewhere. The AEA suggests this probably reflects the challenging financial position of arable farmers, who make up a larger share of the agricultural sectors in those regions.
