Defra is reporting strong uptake of the second SFI window, with around 25% of the £233m Window 2 budget allocated, based on applications received so far.25%
Window 2 is open to farmers and land managers who, at the point they start an application, provided they are:
- registered with the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) so have a Single Business Identifier (SBI)
- have at least 3ha of eligible agricultural land linked to that SBI
This includes those with existing ELM revenue agreements that expire by the end of February 2027.
Farmers and land managers who were eligible in Window 1 but didn’t submit an application can also apply in Window 2.
Defra says it will continue to monitor demand closely and intend to publish further updates when approximately 50% and 75% and of the Window 2 budget has been allocated.
