Emergency approval for Spotlight Plus

EAMU Application for the use of Spotlight Plus® as a desiccant on linseed seed crops has been granted approval for England.

“Post Reglone® (Diquat) the absence of any fully approved desiccant products has meant that UK linseed seed growers have absolutely no viable options for drying their seed crops prior to harvest. This Emergency approval for Spotlight Plus® does mean that those growers will now have something to treat the crop and knock down some of the late emerging weeds.” says Premium Crops Company Agronomist, Hannah Foxall.

“This is the third year that the FMC Agro product, Spotlight Plus®, containing the active carfentrazoneethyl, has been granted an emergency approval”, says Premium Crops Seeds Manager, Nigel Padbury, “and this year’s approval has been delayed due to issues around the associated Stewardship Scheme. I cannot stress enough how important it is that anyone considering the use of Spotlight Plus this year should adhere to the Stewardship Scheme associated with this approval”.
