A new membership service for arable farmers who want to benefit from the latest independent and technical advice has been launched by Ceres Research.
The new service will combine regular agronomic, economic and political insights with field-based reviews and events.
According to Dr Alex Setchfield it bridges the gap between academia and practical on-farm application. “There’s an urgent need for new solutions as farming undergoes significant change and businesses face greater risk and uncertainty.
“Our aim with this service is to translate the science so that it can help with seasonal decision-making and improve farm performance. It will provide much-needed clarity, along with impartial advice and direction.
“Keeping growers informed of relevant developments and forthcoming technologies will allow them to be pioneering. Importantly, it comes without any commercial bias.”
Farmers who become members will receive publications, monthly digests and online Agronomy Club meetings, as well as access to skills webinars and training events.
A regular podcast will be produced, giving easy audio access to the latest information. Innovative digital tools are also included in the offer, in the form of interactive dashboards that allow users to investigate and benchmark key metrics.
The cost of membership is £700/year, with Ceres Rural agronomy clients qualifying for a 25% discount.
A free trial of the first online Agronomy Club meeting is being offered to anyone interested in the new service. Subjects being covered include rotation planning, T3 applications and future nitrogen planning.
