Chinese agchem giant makes UK move

Rainbow Agro used Lamma to announce its UK arrival.

The Chinese company is a ‘top ten’ crop protection business and the country’s leading exporter in the sector.

It has entered a partnership with AgTIgrow and its founder Simon McMunn says the ambition is to encourage UK growers to re-evaluate their attitudes towards post-patent crop protection products. “Prioritising quality and reliability will deliver product confidence. This will raise expectations of what post-patent chemistry can deliver, both in the field and the to the bottom line.

The company has 8,600 product registrations with 330 patents worldwide, and also acts as a manufacturer for global agchem brands.

Over a dozen UK registrations will be available at launch spanning herbicides and fungicides, with a further 12 expected shortly.

Simon says the UK investment is a long-term commitment, following a successful move into Europe. “This means a long-term commitment to defending re-registrations through both the UK and EU regulatory systems. With a strategy built on tightly controlled production and market specific formulations, I believe our offer will resonate with the modern progressive and technical professional that is today’s typical farmer.”
