University needs septoria management feedback

Warwick University is asking growers and agronomists to contribute to a survey on how precision breeding might improve disease management.

The results will be fed into a mathematical model on winter wheat septoria management to inform policy dialogue on whether and how to realistically support farmers with the provision of precision-bred crops with septoria resistance. The combined findings will be published as a doctoral thesis and in a scientific journal by the end of the year.

Project lead Nadine Aschauer says the survey is anonymous and should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The university is looking for 30 responses per farmer group (conventional, regenerative, and organic), the minimum needed to produce meaningful results.

The survey is open until the end of April and can be accessed by visiting: https://qualtricsxm87ndzpkfc.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bjDiFACeRL7qmKq
