Farmers and growers are invited to a national expo offering exclusive insights into the work of pest management professionals and their role in protecting premises and businesses.

PestEx 2022, hosted by national trade body the British Pest Control Association (BPCA), is at ExCel London in March and will see delegates from a variety of sectors in attendance.

A series of seminars will highlight the key role pest professionals play in protecting environmental and public health as well as in agriculture, game and wildlife management, food processing and the food supply chain.

And more than 80 exhibitors from the UK, Europe and across the world, will be showcasing their latest products, services and innovations.

Lauren Day is Events Manager at BPCA. She said: “It’s crucial for inspectors and officers who deal with premises monitoring to have the latest information and product details to hand – and likewise for those operating in industries that are subject to regulation, such as food processing and facilities management, to have a clear understanding of the latest techniques and advice.

Vital insights

“PestEx is an ideal opportunity for people across the public and private sectors to gain vital insights into the latest developments, products and services in the pest control sector, as well as network with pest management professionals.”

A programme of technical and business seminars has been planned for PestEx which takes place on March 16 and 17.

Confirmed events include seminars in the Spotlight Theatre, which will see specific case studies discussed as part of a celebration and showcase of the work undertaken by pest professionals.

Oliver Madge, Helen Hall from BASF and Lance Moeller of JLM Pest Control Solutions will discuss ‘the use of Selontra to combat an extreme infestation at an Arab horse stable,’ while Paul Cooper LNPS will give a seminar on ‘post-pandemic pest management.’

Neil Wotherspoon of Elite Pest Management, Dr Matthew Davies of Killgerm and Chris Davis of Cleankill Environment will deliver two case study-based seminars on ‘the life of a pest controller in Afghanistan’ and ‘an on-the-ground view of pest control staff training – challenges and successes.’

‘Preventative bird control measures’ will be presented by Chris Frappell of PestFix and Sean Byrne from EWS Group, while Ashley Gore of Check Services will discuss ‘challenges of Ephestia – sp moth in cereal manufacturing,’ and Edialux’s John Stewart will deliver a case study entitled ‘when the heat is on.’

Dozens of exhibitors at the event will be showcasing their products and services with some of the biggest brand names in the industry including Bayer, Killgerm, Pelgar, RSPH and Syngenta confirmed to attend.

Delegates who pre-register their attendance at PestEx will receive free entry to Protect@PestEx – a reaction game with prizes donated by BPCA and suppliers, including the top prize of a Playstation 5.
