The team at AlphaBio Control are delighted to be awarded a Global Green Business Award for its work researching and developing naturally-sourced, low environmental impact alternatives to conventional pesticides.

The Global Green Business award, announced by Acquisition International, recognises the Anglo-Italian company’s leadership approach to improving food production.

Iain Fleming, co-founder and MD of AlphaBio Control, responded to the award: “We are of course absolutely delighted to receive today’s award and I dedicate it to the AlphaBio team who have tirelessly worked to make the company what it is.

Huge challenge ahead

“There is a huge challenge of producing high quality affordable food, in a way that reduces the impact on our environment, promoting biodiversity and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It is not an easy challenge but we think it is essential and something that we at AlphaBio have been working on for the last 10 years.

“Our first two products, the bio-insecticide, FLiPPER® and bio-herbicide, MiSSiTO® are produced from olive oil and sunflower oil respectively, and they are changing the perception that biocontrol agents are somehow second best. On the contrary, we believe they are first-best, and this award, along with the recent awarding of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, endorses that view.”
