March tractor registrations down but above monthly average

The Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) has announced a 12.8% drop in tractor sales for March compared to the same month last year.

1,939 tractors were registered in March however, the AEA suggests that the market is not as bad as these figures may appear. The number of machines registered in March was 4% above the five-year average for this time of year. Similarly, while the 2024 total of 2,891 tractors is 13.8% lower than the 2023 total for the same period, it is just 5% below the recent average.

The AEA concludes that while demand is not as strong as it has been in previous years, there are still plenty of agricultural businesses looking to invest in tractors.
