On the back of short coverings, new global export demand and weather concerns in parts of Europe and the US, grain prices recovered from the low during the middle of last week.
The latest AHDB Grain Marketing Report shows UK feed wheat futures (Nov-25) at £184.75/t. The May-26 contract also rose during the week to £195.00/t.
The key reason for speculators moving was down to only 10% of the US winter wheat crop had been harvested by June 15th, below the five-year average of 16% (USDA).
Nov-25 Paris rapeseed futures were largely unchanged from last week, currently sitting at €500.25/t. Some support came from firmness in Brent crude oil prices with continued developments in the Middle East.
