Sarah Mukherjee is leaving her position as chief executive of the Crop Protection Association to take up the role of chief executive of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). She will be starting this new challenge in June 2020, so will continue full time in her current role at the CPA until the end of May.

Michael Muncey, chairman of the CPA, said; “Sarah joined the CPA in March 2017 and has made a significant contribution in representing the industry, steering the organisation through the uncertainties of Brexit and leading the team in challenging times. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Sarah for her efforts and wish her well in her new role at the IEMA.

“We will begin the process of appointing Sarah’s successor immediately and I am confident that the organisation is well placed to transition effectively to new leadership.”

Sarah Mukherjee said, “I have enjoyed my time at the CPA enormously and it has been my privilege to lead such a fantastic team. I am proud of the work we have done in the last three years; the Association is well-placed to make the case for safe, affordable food and for agri-science in the post-Brexit world. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the CPA’s members for their support and the staff team members for their dedication and energy.

“I am delighted to be joining IEMA at such a crucial time for sustainability management in the UK and globally. In the year that the COP comes to the UK, it’s clear that our members are walking the walk when it comes to delivering a low carbon future and I am very much looking forward to leading IEMA’s dynamic team.”
