With the application window for the next round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF 2026) opening on 17 March, Defra is hosting an application advice webinar.
Defra will allocate a total of £50 million for farmers and contractors to invest in equipment and technology.
Funding is split across 3 themes:
- £20 million for farm productivity
- £20 million for animal health and welfare
- £10 million for slurry management
Growers can apply for a grant towards the cost of specific items from approved lists within these themes.
In total, 290 items are eligible for funding with grants ranging from £1,000 to £25,000 per theme. Applicants can apply for items under more than one theme, up to a combined maximum of £75,000, with Defra paying a percentage of the cost of each item. The exact amount depends on the item chosen.
Defra is offering 70 productivity items available in this round, including autonomous UV-C light treatment. Other items include weed wipers, rainwater harvesting systems and camera-guided inter-row sprayers.
The webinar takes place on March 12. To register, please visit: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-2026-tickets-1983241243948?aff=oddtdtcreator
