XD adds more horsepower to T7 range

New Holland’s all-new T7 XD tractors are specifically designed to meet the needs of large-scale farmers, the company claims.

The line-up offers three power options – 360hp T7.360 XD, 390hp T7.390 XD and 435hp T7.440 XD – based on a Stage V 8.7-litre FPT Cursor 9 six-cylinder engine mounted on a structural sump.

“The T7 XD will extend the compact design, versatility, and excellent power to weight ratio characteristics of our T7 family into the high horsepower segment”, explains New Holland T7 global product manager, Richard Hollins. “The new range will appeal to customers looking for that all-round capability, from heavy field work, demanding PTO or hydraulic tasks, to high-speed haulage; the T7 XD has the features that can deliver this.”

Improved fuel efficiency

The Cursor 9 features an electronic variable-geometry turbocharger and intercooling to maximise fuel efficiency.

A flat power curve ensures maximum power is always available, while peak torque is delivered at 1,400rpm, with the transmission electronically utilising this low engine speed figure to minimise fuel consumption. When idling, engine speed drops to 650rpm, to further cut fuel use.

Standard on all T7 XD models is a new version of New Holland’s Auto Command CVT. Based on a proven 4×2 range design, it introduces a maximum 60kph travel speed. Should it suit the application, a stepped manual control feature allows operation in a powershift mode.

All models feature New Holland’s Intelligent Trailer Braking System. A new Terraglide independent front axle suspension enhances driver comfort thanks to enhanced shock absorbing ability and anti-roll and anti-pitch logic.

Also available for the first time on a New Holland tractor is an integral central tyre inflation system. This allows increased flexion (IF) or very high flexion (VF) tyres to be operated at their lower recommended pressures when at work.

With fieldwork complete, fast reinflation from the cab is then possible for road travel at maximum permitted speed, via a gear-driven high-capacity twin cylinder air compressor.

A new compact front linkage offers a lift capacity of 6,100kg, and it is complemented by two double-acting spool valves, plus optional 1,000/1,000E rpm PTO. At the rear, lift capacity is 8% higher than on the T7 HD, at 11,942kg, and up to five double-acting high-flow remote valves can be specified, with a power beyond supply optional. Hydraulic demands are met by a MegaFlow dual pump and energy-saving dual circuit option, with 360 l/min total capacity, up 67% on T7 HD tractors.

Comfort and connectivity

T7 XD tractors feature an enhanced Horizon Ultra cab with upgraded frame and refined suspension that further isolates the cab from any chassis movements and minimises cab roll.

Cab noise level is just 68 decibels, and standard fitments include the IntelliView 12 touchscreen terminal, through which operators can set up and monitor the tractor and any Isobus implement. Functions include Baler Mode, which reduces cab motion when working with large square balers by constantly modifying front axle suspension travel to reduce cab movement and engine speed.

Revised New Holland Intelligence replaces PLM Intelligence, enabling monitoring, recording and instant two-way remote transfer of operating and field data to the New Holland FieldOps online portal. With Connectivity Included as standard, owners can leverage data to identify potential efficiency gains and – with their permission – allow dealers to provide proactive support through monitoring, remote advice and system upgrades.
