The British Carrot Growers Association (BCGA) has announced its 2026 Demonstration Day will be held at York on Thursday 1st October.
Hosted by BCGA Chairman Rodger Hobson of Hobson Farming, the BCGA says this year’s event is likely to be one of the largest yet, with over 70 carrot trial plots as well as the latest developments in carrot production. A nearby parsnip trial will also showcase 11 varieties, providing delegates with an additional opportunity to assess the latest growing techniques and varieties available to the industry.
24 exhibition stands are already confirmed, with new exhibitors joining the event for the first time. The event includes breakfast and lunch through sponsors Elsoms and BASF Nunhems.
Rodger Hobson said: “The BCGA Demonstration Day is growing year on year, and it is the place for growers and the wider supply chain to come together to see the latest varieties in the field, and to share knowledge and experiences with others across the industry. The extensive trials of both carrots and parsnips, as well as a strong line-up of exhibitors, will make for an invaluable day for everyone.”
