LS Plant Breeding Ltd (LSPB) continues to increase its presence in the UK to the benefit of growers as the company’s varieties make their mark on the PGRO and AHDB Recommended Lists for 2017.

“The 2017 PGRO Recommended List for spring beans shows our fully recommended varieties Vertigo and Fanfare being joined by Lynx – which brings the highest downy mildew resistance – plus top yield ranking,” says Theo Labuda, LSPB Managing Director.

“In addition, the 2017 PGRO List for combining peas shows fully recommended Salamanca and Gregor for white peas along with Bluetooth and Campus for the large blue category.  Also our new marrowfat pea Aikido is in the second year of provisional recommendation and at the head of its category for yield.

“For oilseeds, the 2016-17 AHDB winter oilseed rape Recommended Lists show our hybrid varieties Wembley and Angus maintaining their consistent performance in the East-West region, with specially recommended, clubroot-resistant Mentor continuing on both East-West and North region Lists.

“As we look beyond the current year, we have a continuing stream of improved oilseed rape and pulse varieties progressing through the trials system – as well starting to see the first varieties in trials from our developing cereal breeding programme,” adds Mr Labuda.
