With real-world physical exhibitions currently impossible, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of self-propelled trenchers has announced it is taking part in an innovative virtual event next month.

Mastenbroek will be exhibiting at the Trimble Virtual Show, which will be held online at www.trimblevirtual.com on Wednesday 10th December.

Staff will be on Mastenbroek’s virtual stand from 10am to 7pm, delivering presentations regularly throughout the day and also available to answer questions from visitors via an interactive portal similar to Zoom.

Mastenbroek and Trimble worked in partnership to develop a GPS system for drainage trenchers, and the software is now incorporated into all of the company’s trenchers. Based on Trimble’s WM Drain technology, the system offers several benefits compared to laser surveying, including much quicker and more accurate field surveying, reduced drainage installation costs due to more accurate deployment of gravel fill, and the systems.

An on-board computerised touch-screen display records every detail of the job, which can be easily downloaded for analysis and customer billing.

As part of the Trimble Virtual Show Fred Clarke, sales engineer at Mastenbroek, will be delivering a keynote presentation looking at Water Management. “Water management is the foundation of every successful farming operation. Too much, not enough or in the wrong place, water issues affect every grower. An estimated 2.9 million tonnes of top soil are lost each year in the UK, meaning farmers lose over 235,000 tonnes of nitrogen and 8,391 tonnes of phosphorous every year through diffuse pollution. Correct drainage systems can help alleviate these problems and by combining the Trimble system and a Mastenbroek trencher farmers can control water levels and give themselves the best chance of growing profitable crops through precision farming. I will be giving an overview of our approach and capabilities during the online event, which will hopefully be of interest to farmers across the UK.”

As well as Mr Clarke’s presentation, Mastenbroek will also be featuring land forming solutions to control surface water and run off on its stand.

Chris Pett, general manager at Mastenbroek, says: “We work very closely with Trimble, and both companies are innovative thinkers as this event demonstrates. It should be an excellent day, and we are very much looking forward to it.”

Trimble describes the event as the first 100% digital Precision Agriculture Show and is currently accepting registrations. People registering for the event will have a chance of winning a Trimble GFX-350TM Display and NAV-500TM Guidance Controller.
