Stirling, Strathendrick and Strathkelvin (SSS) Young Farmers has held a series of events to raise money for the agricultural charity RSABI, resulting in a £4,000 donation.

The three events coincided with the club’s 80th anniversary celebrations and included a stock judging competition, held in conjunction with NFU Scotland Forth and Clyde; a dinner dance at the Inchyra Grange Hotel; and a variety concert held at The Albert Halls.

SSS anniversary secretaries Kim McLaren and Kirsty Morton said they were delighted to have managed to raise funds to donate to RSABI as the chosen charity over the past year.

“In addition to supporting this important cause, each of the three events were a great opportunity for the farming community to get together and for old and new members to reconnect with each other,” said Kim.

Kirsty added: “Our thanks go out to everyone who has made this anniversary possible and for helping us to raise a fantastic sum for RSABI.”

Pauline Macmillan, RSABI’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We’re very grateful to the SSS Young Farmers for choosing to fundraise for RSABI and for their fantastic efforts to raise such a brilliant total to support the charity’s work.

“Our thanks also go to everyone who attended and supported the three events. The sum raised will go towards providing vital emotional, practical and financial support to those who need it in Scottish agriculture.”
