The UK Agri-Tech Centre is running a farm tour and networking lunch at Newton Farm in Brecon on 8 October to see and hear about the implementation of agri-tech in a mixed farming system.
Hosted by the Roderick family from 10am-2.45pm, there will be demonstrations of precision technologies, industry speakers and a panel session, offering a valuable update on practical, high-impact agri-tech currently available to British farmers.
Visitors will have the chance to learn about a number of projects involving the Roderick family and technologies currently in use on the farm, including:
- AI and remote sensing to track and measure biodiversity
- On-animal sensors for health monitoring in beef rearing and finishing
- Autonomous and in-field weighing of sheep and cattle for effective livestock management
Also in attendance on the day is the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre for a demonstration of their autonomous tractor in conjunction with a local machinery manufacturer.
Following the networking lunch, the day will conclude with a panel session featuring industry leaders who will discuss how technology can make farming more efficient and resilient.
