AGCO launch ‘Geo-Bird’ to help farmers with planning

AGCO Corporation has launched an online tool aimed at supporting farmers to independently plan and optimise their global navigation satellite system (GNSS) machine guidance lines.

The free of charge application, Geo-Bird, is a straightforward tool which generates optimised waylines in three simple steps. Based on the implements width, the technology will calculate the optimal direction and placement of each wayline for the selected fields. Three potential routing suggestions are calculated and a manual direction can be entered for comparison. Time savings, wheel traffic area and the number of turns are shown for each routing so that comparisons can be made and differences and potential savings can be seen.

Developed by Fuse and following its open platform philosophy, the chosen routing can then be downloaded for direct use and exported to a terminal.

Mark Theuerkauf, go-to-market lead at Fuse, said: “The ability to plan in advance and outside the rush of narrow windows to complete fieldwork is very important to our customers. This is especially true when working on rented land, working as a contractor on many different fields, or growing specialty crops in combination with local challenging conditions, like irregular or sloping field conditions. It is often guesswork to know what the most efficient working direction should be.”

The secure Geo-Bird app can help farmers overcome this challenge. Visit http://www.geo-bird.com
